This page provides information about books by David and Glenda Sobotta.
Our most popular book is A Week at the Beach - The Emerald Isle Travel Guide. The Kindle version has just been updated for 2014. The advice for planning a great vacation on one of North Carolina’s favorite family beaches is all there. You will find everything from how to get here to where to eat and what to do while letting our waves and beaches renew your spirit.
This unique travel guide will help you feel like one of the locals who love living here. If you have more questions, our books offers great ways to get additional local advice. There will also be a free 2014 update available online this spring. Late in January 2014, we published our first picture book, "100 Pictures, 1000 Words, A Crystal Coast Year." It is the best of the over 40,000 photos that I took last year. It costs just $2.99 and works on almost any device. Readers of the book will also find a link to a website where they can buy high resolution versions of any of the images in the book for just 99 cents for their personal use.
If you like our beach book, you might also like A Taste for the Wild, Canada’s Maritimes. It is about our life in the Maritimes in the seventies and a fall 2012 visit back to see some wonderful friends we made while living there. If you have never been to the Maritimes, our book is a great introduction.
If you would like to find out what it is really like to work at Apple, try The Pomme Company. It is the story of David’s nearly twenty years working at Apple. Some of his stories of Apple’s corporate culture are amazing but they are true.
These four of our books are available in paperback from Amazon. They are also all Prime eligible. We are currently updating the color print version of the Emerald Isle Travel Guide. The new version should be available by the end of May 2014. The Kindle version has been updated already.

The Pomme Company
The truth of David’s book and his many articles about Apple have never challenged by Apple. It is true that some employees who worked for David were afraid to be in a picture in The Pomme Company. Read that strange story at “Do Apple Employees Need A Witness Protection Program?”
You can read an excerpt from The Pomme Company on the Huffington Post.
All of our books are Kindle books and can be viewed on almost any computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Our books even can be read using an iPad. Rumors of iPads overheating while reading the Pomme Company are pure fabrication.
We will use our travel guide to Emerald Isle as an example for getting you started reading on your electronic device of choice.
