Sobotta Family Sourdough Waffles

Sobotta Family Sourdough Waffles

Continue feeding sourdough until you have at least two cups List of ingredients * 2 cups of sourdough starter * 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar * 2 eggs * 4 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil * 1/2 teaspoon of salt * 1 teaspoon of baking soda * 1 tablespoon of warm water. * 1/4 cup of buttermilk * 1/2 cup of heart healthy Bisquik

Directions Mix the baking soda and warm water in a small bowl and set aside

Mix remaining ingredients in another large bowl. Whisk until smooth.

Heat your waffle iron. We spray ours with PAM Once your waffle iron is almost ready, gently fold the baking soda/water mixture into the batter. It will start to bubble.

We use a one half cup measuring cup to dip the batter and put it in the waffle iron. We keep the waffles on a rack in a slightly heated 250F over until we are done cooking. This recipe makes about 10 waffles. We are never very exact about the sourdough since it is very hard to measure.

Make certain that you feed your sourdough after making the recipe.

We usually feed ours two or three times and if we are not going to bake with it, we put it in the refrigerator where it doesn’t have to be fed.

However, we do not like to leave it in the fridge for longer than a week.
