This page provides information about books by David and Glenda Sobotta.

As of spring 2014, our most recent book is 100 Pictures, 1000 Words, A Crystal Coast Year. It is a $2.99 electronic device only book which contains 100 my photos out of 40,000 taken last year. The photos are optimized for tablet viewing.

I am also working on a new print version of A Week at the Beach - The 2013 Emerald Isle Travel Guide. We hope to have it available by the middle of May. You will not find better advice for planning a great vacation on one of North Carolina’s favorite family beaches. Everything from maps to recipes is all there. The Kindle version is only $3.99. You will find everything from where to eat and what to do while letting our waves and beaches renew your spirit.

This is a new kind of travel guide so if you feel so inclined, you can use instructions in our book to become wired into a community of locals who love to provide information about the area. You can just read the information unless you want to do more like ask questions, but you will have access to local advice if you need it and plenty of pictures every week without any effort on your part.

If you like our beach book, you might also like A Taste for the Wild, Canada’s Maritimes. It is about our life in the Maritimes in the seventies and a fall 2012 visit back to see some wonderful friends we made while living there. If you have never been to the Maritimes, our book is a great introduction.

If you would like to find out what it is really like to work at Apple, try The Pomme Company. It is the story of David’s nearly twenty years working at Apple. Some of his stories of Apple’s corporate culture are amazing but they are true.

The truth of David’s book and his many articles about Apple have never challenged by Apple. It is true that some employees who worked for David were afraid to be in a picture in The Pomme Company. Read that strange story at “Do Apple Employees Need A Witness Protection Program?”

You can read an excerpt from The Pomme Company on the Huffington Post.

All of our books are Kindle books and can be viewed on almost any computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Our books even can be read using an iPad. Rumors of iPads overheating while reading the Pomme Company are pure fabrication.

We will use our travel guide to Emerald Isle as an example for getting you started reading on your electronic device of choice.

If you have a Kindle or Kindle Reader software already on a device, proceed directly to this link for our Emerald Isle Travel Guide.

Download the book and you are ready to take a virtual trip to the beach.

If you do not have a Kindle or Kindle Reader software, go to this page first and download the correct software for your device. Kindle Reader software does work on the iPad and Macs.

There are some great advantages to Kindle Reader software. You can enjoy the same book on several devices including your smartphone or home computer. You also do not have to use iTunes.

Once you have downloaded the free Kindle reader software, go to this link for A Week at the Beach - The 2013 Travel Guide and download the book. It takes only a few seconds.

If you do not have an Amazon account, you will have to create one.

After you have read our book and visited Emerald Isle, we would greatly appreciate any comments and suggestions.

If you feel so moved, we would love a review on Amazon. If you notice any errors we would love to hear about them. Just use our contact form.

Hopefully you will enjoy our beach lover’s guide to loving the beach and perhaps our other books.
